Privacy notice
2026-07-31 · APPLIES TO DEEPOCEANSTUDIO.COM AND ITS FORMS, BOOKING, AND EMAIL
In one line: we collect only what you submit to us directly (contact forms, the free scan, booking a call, or emailing us), we use it to run the diagnostic or reply, we do not sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Who controls this data
Deep Ocean is operated by Nicolò Brignoni as a sole operator and has no incorporated entity. Nicolò is the controller of the personal data described below. Contact: hello@deepoceanstudio.com.
What we collect
- Contact form and email: the name, email address, company, and domain you submit, plus whatever you write in the message.
- The free scan tool: the domain you enter, to run the readability check against it. We do not require your email to see a scan result.
- The public adoption index: when a domain is scanned we keep a dated record of that domain and which of the six AI-preference surfaces it carried, so we can publish how adoption changes over time. These are facts about a public website, not about you: no IP address, no visitor identifier, and nothing linking a scan to the person who ran it is stored. If you would rather your domain were not counted, write to hello@deepoceanstudio.com and we will remove it.
- Booking a call: the name, email, and any details you provide through Cal.com when you book an intake or audit slot.
- Ordinary web log data: the kind any hosting provider records automatically (IP address, browser, page requested), handled by Netlify as our host.
- Privacy-friendly usage analytics: we use Plausible Analytics to count page views and a small number of named events (a scan finishing, a form being submitted, a call-to-action being clicked). Plausible sets no cookies, stores no personal data, does not fingerprint you, and never tracks you across sites or sessions. It records no IP address in its database; the raw IP is used transiently only to derive a country and is discarded. Because nothing personal is stored and no cookie is set, this requires no consent banner under GDPR and ePrivacy. The script is served from our own domain rather than a third-party host, so no request about you leaves deepoceanstudio.com. We added this on 2026-07-31; before that date the site ran no analytics at all.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data, and our forms are not directed at children.
Why we collect it
To respond to your message, to run and deliver the diagnostic you requested (the free scan or a paid Sprint), to confirm and hold a booked call, and to send the invoice and report tied to a paid engagement. We do not use form or booking data for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.
Who processes it
We use a small number of processors to run the site and the business, and only for the purpose stated:
- Netlify · hosting, the contact form, and the free scan function.
- Cal.com · scheduling for intake and audit calls.
- Zoho · the hello@deepoceanstudio.com mailbox, for email sent and received.
- Plausible Analytics · aggregate, cookieless usage statistics. EU-hosted and EU-owned, with data processed in the EU. No personal data is stored, so there is nothing here tied to you as an individual.
- Stripe · payment processing, when an invoice is paid by card. Stripe, not Deep Ocean, holds your card details.
Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy; we send them only what each function needs.
How long we keep it
Contact-form and email messages are kept as long as needed to answer them and for a reasonable period afterward for our own records, and are deleted on request. Sprint deliverables and their underlying raw records are kept for the 30-day warranty claim window plus a reasonable retention period for our own accounting, then deleted or anonymized unless you ask us to keep them longer. Booking data is retained by Cal.com per its own policy and by us only as long as needed to deliver the call.
Your rights
You can ask us, at any time, to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to hello@deepoceanstudio.com with your name and the email address you used; we will respond within a reasonable time and confirm once it is done. Deleting data tied to an active warranty claim or an unpaid invoice may need to wait until that matter is resolved.
What these interim terms do not yet state
A named data protection authority, governing law, and a formal cross-border transfer mechanism are not stated in this version; they will be added after legal review once Deep Ocean's legal entity is formed. This notice will be updated with a new date whenever it changes.
